Biography and a bit about Jim:
I work for Australia Post as a Mail Officer which is basically the title for a mail sorter, although most sorting is electronic these days. For the last 12 years or so I've worked in an administrative capacity, having been trained by the RAF as an administrator and have been involved in various projects relating to Best Practice and Customer Service.
I have also been the editor of a staff newsletter at the Melbourne City Mail Centre (MCMC) and previously at GPO Melbourne for the last 10 years with management approval
and support.
I'm originally from England and have lived in the eastern
suburbs of Melbourne for just over 18 years. I have been a keen amateur photographer for about 30 years. For about the last 15 years my major photographic interest has been aviation - airliners, warbirds and vintage aircraft.
I had heard about the Convoy for Kids and tracked down the details via your website.
I decided to have a slight diversification of my usual
photographic outings from aviation to trucks, having learn't that Australia Post were participating at the event in 2002. This was primarily to illustrate our in-house newsletter and show our own staff that although we may not have direct day to day contact with our colleagues in other
divisions we can see what others in the organisation do for the community.
I also sent out some complimentary pix to about 8 companies that were at Convoy For Kids earlier this year, about a week after the event. I hope they liked the Photos of their Trucks.
Over the years MCMC has also actively supported Red Nose Day and Very Special Kids.
On a personal level I'm also a voluntary English tutor to refugees and migrants from a Non English Speaking Background with the government run AMES (Australian Multicultural Education Service) at Box Hill.
I have sent you some photographs from your 2002 Convoy which I took on the day, and you are more than welcome to use them for the Convoy Website.
Regards, Jim Revell.
We have contacted Jim and thanked him very much for the use of his fabulous Pix.

The Photo Gremlins have been at some of these photos, however I have still put them up for you to see. It must have been a film-negative problem.
