Madeleine's grandmother, Susan Healy, appealed for her granddaughter to be returned. Speaking from her home in Liverpool, she said: "We are hoping and praying that the people who have Madeleine will take her somewhere safe and we can find her and bring her home".
Madeleine may have had her hair cut or dyed another colour, but her 'Right Eye' has a very prominent mark. The abductors may have sunglasses on her if travelling. Be aware and if you think you see Madeleine, or know where she is being kept, or have any information at all, please call the Police or Crimestoppers in your country immediately.
A website to help find Madeleine was launched on May 17th. Click here to visit the site.

Regarding forwarding missing children's 'chain emails'.
Please check that emails sent to multiple addresses are not a HOAX email prior to forwarding any 'emails'.
Unfortunately, people who have a heart, fall into and automatically believing these types of emails and therefore simply forward them on without checking to see if they are true.
* It pays not to forward any email chain letters of missing children until they have been verified, as they can keep circulating for years sometimes.
Genuine Missing Children (or adults) alerts have information such as:
* The Police department or agency contact details of who is handling the case.
* Contact details of the parents, family or lawyer.
* Where the child/person went missing from.
* Where they were last seen.
* The date they went missing.
* A description of the person and what they were wearing on that day.
* Description of height, weight, age, hair and eye colour, distinguishing marks, nick-name etc.
These websites have lists of hoax emails etc:
www.hoax-slayer.com
http://hoaxbusters.org
www.snopes.com
*In one day alone - on the 19th May 2006, the 'Snopes' website registered over 25,000 searches from readers looking for information about a "missing child" named 'Ashley Flores' to check if it was a hoax - and it is a HOAX.

Emergency Phone Numbers in Australia
IMPORTANT NOTE: You should only call an emergency number in a time critical emergency.
000 is Australia's primary emergency service telephone number and should be used to access emergency assistance from fixed phones, mobile and payphones in the first instance.
112 is the GSM standard emergency service number for use with GSM digital mobile phones. 112 may not be available on CDMA mobile phones. Your telephone provider can tell you if you are able to access 112 from your CDMA mobile phone. 112 will NOT work from a normal home phone or a public pay phone phone.
106 is the text-based emergency call service for people with a hearing, sight or speech impairment. This service operates using a TTY (teletypewriter) and does NOT accept voice calls.
Both 112 and 106 are secondary emergency service numbers because they are for use only in connection with particular technologies.
For further information and to answer some questions which you may have about these Australian emergency telephone numbers, please Click HERE to visit The Australian Communications Authority (ACA) website.
Other useful numbers are below.
*Do you know how to check your Mobile phone's serial number?
Key the following into your phone: star-hash-zero-six-hash as *#06#
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen.
This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.
Should your mobile phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset, so that even if the thief changes the Sim card, your phone will be totally useless.
You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it, can't use it or sell it either. If everybody did this, there would be no point in stealing mobile phones.

USA Code Amber Ticker
Canadian Code Amber Ticker
The Origin of the Amber Plan
The AMBER Plan was created in 1996 as a powerful legacy to 9-year-old Amber Hagerman, a bright little girl who was kidnapped and brutally murdered while riding her bicycle in Arlington, Texas. The tragedy shocked and outraged the entire community. Residents contacted radio stations in the Dallas area and suggested they broadcast special “alerts” over the airwaves so that they could help prevent such incidents in the future.
In response to the community’s concern for the safety of local children, the Dallas/Fort Worth Association of Radio Managers teamed up with local law-enforcement agencies in northern Texas and developed this innovative early warning system to help find abducted children. Statistics show that, when abducted, a child’s greatest enemy is time.
CodeAmber.org went live on August 23rd, 2002. Since that time we have grown rapidly as you can see by the statistics in the top right hand column. The number of sites is a real time counter but we update the number of tickers served per day manually once or twice a week.
