William 'John' Bond National Safe Driver of the Year Memorial Award.
John was killed in a truck accident in 2003. His family wanted to help raise road safety awareness for truck driver's, to help reduce the road death toll of our wonderful truckies, who carry this country.
The Memorial Safe Driver of the Year award began with Convoy For Kids Inc in 2004, with the Bond Family sponsoring the Trophy each year.
Please nominate any truckies, ladies and men, who you believe are safe drivers.
There can be only one plaque winner each year, however, due to the amount of drivers being nominated, Convoy For Kids Inc will recognise ALL nominated safe driver's who fit the criteria, with a special commemorative medallion for each safe driver nominated from 2009.

Convoy For Kids IncŪ. are very proud to congratulate Brian 'Barney' Rainbow, on winning the National Safe Driver of the Year - 'William "John" Bond' Memorial Award for 2008.
Barney has driven for many, many years accident free. He is a driver for Bunker freightlines. Bunker Freightlines driver's have now won this award 2 year's in a row.
'Barney' was presented with his 2008 William 'John' Bond Memorial National Safe Driver Award Plaque at Convoy For Kids Day on Sunday the 17th of February at the Melbourne Markets.
The William "John" Bond National Safe Driver Award plaque is presented annually, and is open to men and lady truck drivers in Australia ONLY.
Note: Truck driver's can only be in the running to win this award if they have been nominated on the correct form from Convoy For Kids head office, and fit the criteria on the form.

The 2007 Convoy For Kids Inc William 'John' Bond National Safe Driver of The Year Memorial Award, was won by Wayne Thackray, who is a long term driver for Bunker Freightlines. (Do you think Wayne looks happy to win this Prestigeous Award - Definately YES).
Congratulations to Wayne and all our previous winners for their great support.
The Safe Driver of the Year award is open to male and female truckie's in Australia only.

The 2007 winning recipient of the Convoy For Kids Inc Safe Driver of the Year Memorial Award was Wayne Thackray. Wayne lives in Victoria and was presented with his Award by Ross Simpson and Jan Maher, for and on behalf of the Bond Family.
The 2006 winning recipient of the Convoy For Kids Inc Safe Driver of the Year Memorial Award was Tania Mawson. Tanya lives in Victoria and was presented with her Award by Adrian Price, last year's Award winner, for and on behalf of the Bond Family.
The 2005 winning recipient of the Convoy For Kids Inc Safe Driver of the Year Memorial Award was Adrian Price. Adrian lives in Melbourne (Vic) and was presented with his Award by Jan Maher, Patron and Secretary of Convoy For Kids Inc, for and on behalf of the Bond Family.
The 2004 winning recipient of the Convoy For Kids Inc Safe Driver of the Year Memorial Award was Rod Hannifey. Rod lives in Dubbo (NSW) and was presented with his Award at the Convoy in March 2004 by Mrs. Bonita Bond and members of the Bond Family.
'John' Bond was killed in a trucking accident and his family Sponsor the Memorial Plaque in his name. 2007 was the fourth Annual Award presented in the hope of raising Road Safety Awareness and Safe Driving awareness.
