If you feel you are a special person who would like to help us help the kids, please feel free to call us at any time. Part-time help needed throughout the year. If you have an hour or more to help us, please just give us a call. Ph: 1300 266 869 (7 days).
Convoy For Kids Day is held on the 3rd SUNDAY in FEBRUARY EACH YEAR.

Kids with Asthma

* The chances of you answering 'YES' to one of these questions is almost 100 per cent.
Australia has one of the highest Death rates of Asthma in children in the World - 2 in 5 children in Australia are effected with Asthma and we receive NO Government funding. This is why we raise money for childhood Asthma awareness, plus other children also with Life Threatening Diseases, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Who Volunteers For Convoy?

Convoy For Kids Inc volunteers come from all walks of life, young and old, including:
* Truckies utilising any free time.
* Transport Companies.
* People effected with Asthma and other life threatening illnesses.
* People with a disability.
* Parents with spare time during the day.
* Students and University groups.
* Work For The Dole people.
* People who also volunteer for other charities.
* Youth groups.
* Church Groups
* Unemployed people who want to help less fortunate children.
* Professionals who want to be involved in their community.
* Companies that donate their staff's time and expertise.
* People seeking new skills and work experience.
* Service groups such as Rotary and Lions Clubs.
* Retirees who want to meet new people, stay active and help others.
** We welcome anyone who wants to help, for an hour, a day or more.
Note: All Volunteers over 18 yrs of age must fill in a WWC check form (Working With Children), plus a CFKInc Volunteer Application Form (which we supply), which are both free.

Why Volunteer?

Around 4.4 million Australians make a difference in their local community by volunteering each year, doing a wide range of tasks for a wide range of not-for-profit organisations. People volunteer for many reasons and in many different ways. There is a great deal of satisfaction that comes from making a difference. Age is no barrier to help us.
As we receive no government funding, we must rely soley on the kind and generous support of companies and the general public, therefore by Volunteering for Convoy For Kids Inc, you WILL be making a difference.
By Volunteering to help Convoy For Kids Inc, you can experience working for Special Kids causes where proceeds raised are used for childhood asthma awareness, health promotion and other special children's causes.
Volunteering will also be assisting in helping to make a difference in areas that are important to you. You can build new skills, meet new people and add variety to your work experience.

Definition of Formal Volunteering
Formal volunteering is an activity which takes place in not-for-profit organisations or projects and is undertaken:
[] To be of benefit to the community and the volunteer;
[] Of the volunteer's own free will and without coercion;
[] For no financial payment;
[] In designated volunteer positions only.
Principles of Volunteering
Volunteering benefits the community and the volunteer.
Volunteer work is unpaid.
Volunteering is always a matter of choice.
Volunteering is not compulsorily undertaken to receive pensions or government allowances.
Volunteering is a legitimate way in which citizens can participate in the activities of their community.
Volunteering is a vehicle for individuals or groups to address human,environmental and social needs.
Volunteering is an activity performed in the not-for-profit sector only.
Volunteering is not a substitute for paid work.
Volunteers do not replace paid workers nor constitute a threat to the job security of paid workers.
Volunteering respects the rights, dignity and culture of others.
Volunteering promotes human rights and equality.

About Officially Registered Members, Entertainers, Volunteers, Stallholders and Police Checks.

All Officially Registered Convoy For Kids Inc Members, Entertainers and Volunteers are supplied with photo ID cards.
NOTE: All persons wishing to join Convoy For Kids Inc, either as a member, to become a volunteer, entertain or to have a stall at any of our events, must fill in the appropriate confidential application form and *agree to a WWC (Working With Children) check, to be involved with our children’s charity. *If you already hold a current/recent National Police Certificate, you may not be required to undergo a new police check. Convoy For Kids Inc comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and all subsequent updates, plus we adhere to all child protection rules.
*The WWC is already mandatory for certain sectors relating to working with children and WILL BE MANDATORY within the next few years, for anyone working with or entertaining children (volunteers, entertainers etc included), besides our charity, many other responsible charities already require Police Checks for people wishing to be involved with their charities.
The Police Check has been one of Convoy For Kids Inc Rules for a number of years and is also part of our 'Duty of Care' to protect the children and the general public attending our events. We also have plain clothes security personnel at our public events.
