I have created this comprehensive section due to so many requests from members and visitors to this site, as there are so many people who really need some SIMPLE and EASY explanations on how to create their websites and where to go for help. I hope you enjoy your journey through this area.

You might need to make a LARGE cup of Tea, Coffee or whatever, and sit down to browse through this page. Make sure you go right to the bottom of the page as there is so much here for you to utilise.
Turning Computers On and Off
You either already know how to turn a computer on, or the computer you are at now was already turned on. If you don't know how to turn a computer on [Don't laugh-I didn't know how to do that until I was shown in the beginning - we all had to start somewhere! You should read 'The Thing' story on this site], have a look at the computer - [the actual computer is a tall or flat unit - not the monitor - 'screen' which you are looking at now), and there will be a button with a green light on. This is where you turn the computer ON. To turn the computer OFF properly, click 'Start'- in the bottom left corner, then click 'shut-down or close', then click 'O.K. or Yes' in the popup box. That is all there is to it. When you want to turn the computer on again, simply press the button on the Computer which, when in the OFF mode will be a Red or Orange little light or a button stating On/Off.

I personally like this Guest Book and use it all the time, as it is very interactive and also allows Guests to place 'Gifts and Pictures' in your Guest Book which some others do not (Some others only come out in text form and NOT as a picture)
Remember to tick certain areas, such as the 'Swear Filter', 'Open in a separate box' and your Email address, so that you are notified when someone signs your Guest Book or adds their website address to your site.

When you submit your website for Awards it creates more traffic to your site. Read their Criteria BEFORE submitting your sites. Ensure your site complies with their rules and is ready to be judged - PRIOR to applying for any Awards.
Some Award programs just send out automatic awards, I personally feel it is more rewarding to apply for awards where your site is actually checked by the award giver.
There are also Award WebMasters who surf the net simply looking for websites to give an Award to. It is wonderful to be appreciated this way, as you have not applied for the Award.
Quite a number of sites designed by EWDesign have won some great Awards. Make sure you set up a SEPARATE Page just for Awards.
There are heaps of Award programs. They also usually have some great things on their sites for you to utilise.

When your Website is ready, you can ADD YOUR WEBSITE LINK on the 'Add Your URL' page on this site. You can also Add your site into the NEW 'Top Site' Page to get more traffic to your site.
I know that a lot of people will have heaps of fun using the XARA 3D Sampler.
Use your imagination when creating your designs. This Free version doesn't have the full capabilities of the purchased versions, however you can use it to your heart's content and have heaps of fun.
Remember to file and save the designs which you are happy with, to use on your own Websites.

Theodora Maps
For FREE use on a web page with Conditions
An attribute to Theodora, anywhere on the page, with a link back to their URL [website] is required, plus notify them by e-mail when the URL and Map[s] are in place - noting the URL address of the page on which their map[s] appear[s].

They are very easy to use
Here are just a few out of Thousands of Graphic sites on the Internet for you to choose some photos and clip-art for your website. There are many links on these sites.
There are also a couple of Search engines and Toolbars for your browser.
Respect each site's terms of use or copyright and give credit where applicable or a link back to their site if requested.
To download an image in Netscape, you can RIGHT-click the image and choose "View Image". After the image is displayed alone on the web browser choose File/Save Page As from the menu at the top to save the image in your hard drive, or File/Print to print it.
To download an image displayed in MS Internet Explorer web browser:
[1] If an image is not a link [meaning when you click it, you are taken to a website or an email address], then you can RIGHT-click and choose Save_As.
[2] If the image is a link, then RIGHT-click and choose PROPERTIES. Highlight/copy the URL address, then paste it to your web browser address box. Then use [1 – details above] to save the image.
Add a Counter to your Site
There are so many to choose from. Choose one which suits your particular needs. There are Free and Paid counters. The free ones are fine and there are also counters which give you other specific information. Some have quite large advertisments with them, so make sure you read all the information before choosing one.
The Free Center has a Good List of checked Counters with details. This is a great 'First Stop' for your counters, and I am sure you will find one to suit you there.
If you haven't downloaded the GOOGLE Search Engine from this page- I recommend that you do as it will be an invaluable Tool for searching the Web for anything you need,(it only takes a couple of minutes). You can then go to your GOOGLE search Box and type in 'Counters' (or whatever you are looking for). Pages of counters will show up and you can choose one which you like.

Add Free Virus Info to your site.
If you would like to add a Free Virus Info Feed box to your Web pages, click the link below. When you are on the page, just click where it states 'Add Free Virus Info Feed' plus Free Virus Scan and others on the page (it is on the bottom of each virus info section). You will be taken to another site, then follow the instructions.
